Intersales strengthens its business with dealership acquisition
07 Nov 2019
Case IH dealership Intersales has its eye on the future, with news the business is undergoing a significant expansion after the recent purchase of the Hartwigs Case IH dealership network.
Intersales currently has dealerships at Leeton and Temora and with the acquisition of Hartwigs will expand into Wagga Wagga, Griffith and Albury, more than doubling its current footprint.
According to Intersales' spokesman and major shareholder Peter Heinrich, the business had been looking at its options for expansion for some time and Hartwigs presented a great opportunity.
"Hartwigs is a family business with a proud history that has established strong relationships with its customers and prides itself on its commitment to service and knowledge of the industry," Peter said.
"This mirrors our own business philosophy and is an exciting opportunity for our organisation, our staff and the staff at Hartwigs as we use our expanded dealership footprint to enhance our product, parts and service offering for the benefit of customers and our company into the future.
"We are proud of the quality of our staff and we put a lot of money into training to get this right, including bringing enough apprentices through the company to ensure that skill and experience is always there."
Pete McCann, General Manager for Case IH Australia and New Zealand, congratulated Intersales on the expansion and thanked the Hartwigs team for its efforts over many years.
"This is great news for the Case IH brand and reinforces the strength of our whole dealer structure. Customers can be assured they'll receive uninterrupted support during the transition period and will enjoy all the benefits that come from an expanded dealership network with access to more resources and technical expertise," he said.

Intersales was originally established in Temora in the 1950s, trading as LA Sales, before adopting the trading name Intersales Temora in the 1970s. In 1976 employees David Carruthers and Brian Matthews took ownership of Intersales, but after Brian's death in 1980, his wife, Helen, assumed her husband's share of the business, joining David and offering an ownership opportunity for Peter Heinrich.
Intersales expanded in 2001 with the purchase of the Case IH dealership at Leeton and today the two sites currently employ 80 permanent staff, rising to about 100 with the acquisition of the Hartwigs dealerships.
While Peter Heinrich remains the majority shareholder, last year employees Mitchell Price, Adam Blachut, Trevor Morton, Greg Woolner and Carina FitzPatrick became equal partners in minority share of the business, providing the impetus for a new direction.
"They are the future of this business and make this significant expansion the right move at the right time. Exciting times are ahead for our staff and our customers and we look forward to the opportunities ahead," Peter said.
